Pentecost in Prophetic Poetry

Fifty days following First Fruits[1]
When Jesus rose from the dead[2]
Fulfilling a promise Isaiah and David had said[3]
The Passover Lamb[4] nailed on a stake[5]
Like unleavened bread[6]
No yeast in His soul
Now, seven Sabbaths plus one[7]
Shavuot is the name[8]
Sacrifices celebrating the first harvest of grain
A Priest two loaves of leavened bread would wave[9]
Two peoples represented
Whom Messiah would save[10]
Yes, the Jew and the Greek,[11]
The lofty
The weak[12]
The leaven of sin
That came from the fall[13]
Humanity corrupted and present in all[14]
The ransom now paid
There came from above
The symbol of peace
Found in a dove[15]
God’s Spirit
Descended
This fiftieth day[16]
To dwell in the ones
Forever to stay[17]
In those who believed in His name[18]
Their leaven removed
Would form a new man[19]
Together as one[20]
That was God’s plan[21]
The body of Messiah
Through what He has done[22]
Three thousand were saved[23]
The curse He became
As He hung on the tree[24]
Forgiveness of sin
Now set us free[25]
Another shadow that pointed
Was now complete
For He is the substance[26]

Now I entreat
What about you?
A just, holy God
Can you now meet?
