Psalm 24 Revealed – A Poetic Rendition

Psalm 24

A Psalm of David.
24:1  The earth is the LORD'S, and the fulness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein.
24:2  For He hath founded it upon the seas, and established it upon the floods.
24:3  Who shall ascend into the mountain of the LORD? and who shall stand in His holy place?
24:4  He that hath clean hands, and a pure heart; who hath not taken My name in vain, and hath not sworn deceitfully.
24:5  He shall receive a blessing from the LORD, and righteousness from the God of his salvation.
24:6  Such is the generation of them that seek after Him, that seek Thy face, even Jacob. Selah
24:7  Lift up your heads, O ye gates, and be ye lifted up, ye everlasting doors; that the King of glory may come in.
24:8  'Who is the King of glory?' 'The LORD strong and mighty, the LORD mighty in battle.'
24:9  Lift up your heads, O ye gates, yea, lift them up, ye everlasting doors; that the King of glory may come in.
24:10  'Who then is the King of glory?' 'The LORD of hosts; He is the King of glory.' Selah[1]

Psalm 24 Revealed A Poetic Rendition

Who is the King of glory?
David wrote this in a Psalm;[2]
the answer from within is like a healing balm.
Who is this Righteous One
whose heart we're told is pure?
His hands and soul are clean;
could He be the cure?
Ancient gates are told to open[3]
that this One might come in.
Is He the one to hope in
who was able to ascend[4]
to the holy place
On that holy hill?
The Psalm contains the answer[5]
of the One who did fulfill.
We're told He is Creator[6]
who could make such boasts;
it is none other than the LORD of hosts.[7]
Paul and James[8] will give the answer,
in the Scriptures where we read
of rulers in the past
who were blind to their deed.[9]
For they lacked God’s wisdom –
to them, a mystery –
but predestined from the Father[10]
now it's history.
Crucified was their Messiah
Who then declared it ”victory.”[11]
A Psalm and a story
for Jesus is the One:
He's the LORD of Glory.[12]
